Series: Ladies of Distinction (Book 4)

Goodreads Summary: After his departure from New York two years ago to meet up with his almost-fiancée, Zayne Beckett is the last person Agatha Watson wanted to stumble upon in her travels as a reporter with the New York Tribune. Quite pathetically bedraggled, he clearly needs to be taken in hand and sent back East to his family. Although she no longer has feelings for him, Agatha realizes–by hook or by crook–she’ll have to be the one to get the obstinate man home.
Zayne has no desire to be taken anywhere and is prepared to drag his heels all the way home . . . until he finds himself slipping back into the familiar banter of his former friendship with Agatha. Once they arrive in New York, Zayne realizes Agatha’s determined nose for news has earned her a few enemies, and he hopes to repay her help with some help of his own. When she rebuffs all his attempts to prove himself a knight in shining armor, the lengths to which they’ll go to win this battle of wills lead to some memorable antics.
Everyone else may think them a match, but nothing could be further from the truth–until Agatha finds herself in real trouble. Have these two stubborn, too-smart-for-their-own-good people been meant for each other all along?

Agatha is a newspaper reporter who finds herself in trouble because the people she writes about don’t like the attention and her life is in danger. She is sent out west with her bodyguards to try to wait out the threats. Who of all people does she run into but Zayne her best friend who also broke her heart when he left New York to marry his fiancée. Agatha finds him looking like a mountain man, not married and injured. Can she put her broken heart aside to help him heal and get him home to his family.

Zayne soon finds out that Agatha has gotten herself into some trouble since he has last seen her. His plan is to find her a husband to protect her but can anyone be good enough for his Agatha and can he figure out he is the best man for the job before it’s too late?

I was looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. This is the 4th book in the series and the last I believe.

What I liked: This book was great I loved it! Between Agatha getting herself into all kind of mischief and Zayne trying to find her a husband I was laughing a lot while reading this book. Along with the humor there was a good plot with a serious side as well which made this book flow really well. It was fun to see some of the other characters from the series in this book and I thought it did a great job giving us a peak into their outcome without taking away from this book.

What I did not like: There was not much to not like in this book. The only thing that seemed a little far-fetched was Zayne’s light bulb moment towards the end of the book with his feeling for Agatha.

Over all this was a great book and a great series. I did not read all the books so I can’t do a review of the series but I highly recommend starting from the beginning and reading them all you will not be disappointed!
