Goodreads Summary: Visit historic South Carolina where secrets disrupt the lives of three women. A cousin’s quest takes a drastic turn when she falls for the man she thought she despised. A young woman’s sheltered world crumbles after she finds a badly beaten stranger on a nearby plantation. And a sister’s heart is torn when the neighbor who killed her brother in a duel returns home a changed man. Between betrayal and lies, is there room for love?

This three in one collection follows the Reed family. It starts with a boy being claimed as a Reed and the love the develops between the woman who brings him and his uncle. The 2nd story deals with a lost son who returns but can’t remember who he is and the woman who rescues him.. The third story is a little more removed from the first two but deals with the death of a brother and the sister trying to keep things going and needing to forgive the man who killed her brother.

I enjoyed all three stories and liked how they tied together. The stories where enjoyable and interesting.

What I liked: The first two stories I enjoyed the most. The first story was my favorite. For a short story it has a good plot and I enjoyed the suspense as well. The 2nd story which dealt with amnesia was also good. I really liked how these stories flowed from each other. They where not really connected other than being the same family but it made the transitions easier. The stories where well written and even though they where short stories they felt like regular novels.

What I did not like: The third story was kind of odd. The climax of this story threw me for a loop and just felt kind of weird. I did not enjoy it as much as the first two.

Overall this was a good collection of stories. It really did a good job of mixing romance and suspense into an enjoyable choice of stories. I just was not as impressed with the third story. The main characters where a few more generations removed which left me a little confused about who was who at first. If you enjoy historical fiction this is a good pick.
